Heartsaver (SJT)

The American Heart Association Heartsaver course is designed to prepare students to provide CPR and to use an automated external defibrillator (AED) in a safe, timely, and effective manner. Heartsaver courses are intended for anyone with little or no medical training who needs a course completion card for job, regulatory like OSHA, or other requirements. These courses can also be taken by anyone who wants to be prepared for an emergency in any setting.

CPR AED – This classroom course teaches basic CPR skills such as performing a head tilt-chin lift and giving compressions and breaths to Adults, Children, and Infants. The course also covers AED use, choking relief, and rescue breathing for all age groups.

First Aid Covers – First aid basics medical emergencies (including actions for choking, breathing problems, shock and more) Injury emergencies (including actions for bleeding, broken bones, burns and more) Environmental emergencies (including actions for bites and stings, and temperature-related and poison emergencies)

Pre AHA rules! Each student must have his or her own current copy of the Heartsaver, BLS, ACLS, or PALS Provider Manual in order to attend the class.

An AHA certification card is valid for two years and is awarded upon course completion of Heartsaver, BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
