Advanced Cardiac Life Support or (ACLS) builds on the foundation of basic life support (BLS) skills, emphasizing the importance of continuous, high-quality CPR. It also covers airway management and related pharmacology.
In this course, skills are taught in large, group sessions and small, group learning and testing stations where case-based scenarios are presented.
This advanced course highlights the importance of high-performance team dynamics and communication; systems of care; and recognition of and intervention in cardiopulmonary arrest, immediate post-cardiac arrest, acute dysrhythmia, stroke, and acute coronary syndromes (ACS).
Pre AHA rules! Each student must have his or her own current copy of the Heartsaver, BLS, ACLS, or PALS Provider Manual in order to attend the class.
An AHA certification card is valid for two years and is awarded upon course completion of Heartsaver, BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
